This year, my dear friend Kurt Lucas, owner of JKL Design Group in Sarasota, FL has encouraged me to work BIG. I had always thought of my work as large in scale, but Kurt has challenged me to work even larger this year. So we had a wall built by an incredible carpenter friend of mine, Don (if you need a great carpenter or all around master of home and automobile fix it man, I’ll get you connected) and now I have a 12’x12′ wall to make really very big paintings. I can’t wait to see what comes from this new challenge – as Kurt says, “the best designers are made when they work out of their comfort zone.”  SO! Let’s get uncomfortable!

my painting studio at JKL: the ceilings are 20′ in the back warehouse where I work, the new wall is 12’x12′ – and to help with scale , that is a 6′ tall orange ladder… Very big, and very exciting!
