About "What's In A Name?"

This is the first of Laurie’s paintings in 2019 without a signature on the front of the painting. This practice for the artist is a basic exploration in “ownership” of work, what an artist’s signature means, metaphorically and symbolically, and how signatures effect presentation as well as intent.  Laurie wants the observer of the work to choose an orientation that is most pleasing for them.  There is no “right” or “wrong” way of viewing the artist’s work, there is simply the viewing and experiencing of it.
