"Wow! Michael Griffin and I are blown away! We visited Laurie and her husband and were saying how much we love her signature portrait paintings of women. So, for our wedding gift, she personalized a painting of me adding her flair. She also painted two more to accompany it- a fisher women and golfer because those are my favorite things to do. Seriously the most thoughtful and best gift I’ve ever received!! When we were visiting, we also bought one of her beautiful abstract paintings that we love. Can’t wait to be a Laurie Maves collector! She is an amazingly talented artist and an even better person."
“Brianna Springer Commission,” 18″x24″ acrylic and mixed media on canvas, along with the “Fisherwoman” and the “Springer Golfer” were commissioned in 2018 by Brianna Springer and Michael Griffin of Denver, Colorado.
This commission is an example of Laurie’s stylized “Modigliani” like abstracted portraiture. These paintings were created with acrylic and mixed media on gallery wrapped canvases, and were delivered to the client wired and ready to hang. Laurie spends an extensive amount of time getting to know her portraiture subjects as best as she can, and if is not able to meet in person, she will utilize photos, videos, poetry and the favorite music of the client to ensure she captures as best as she is able, the essence of the individual.
